Subj: Red Velvet Cake

RED VELVET CAKE
Step 1-
Mix 2 level teaspoons Cocoa with
2 1oz. bottles of red food color (set aside)
Step 2 -
Mix 1 teaspoon baking soda with
1 teaspoon vinegar (set aside)
Step 3 -
In large bowl cream:
1/2 cup Crisco
1 1/2 Cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Beat in Step 1
Alternate 2 1/2 cups flour (sifted) and
1 cup buttermilk
Fold in Step 2
Put into 2 9 inch pans
Bake 30 min. at 350 degrees
ICING
Step 1 -
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons flour
Cook until it coats the spoon
Let it get ice cold.
Step 2
Cream -
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Continue mixing and blend in step 1
ICE CAKE AND ENJOY
